This is 'The Sentinel', one of two animal paintings I'm currently working on, well, trying to work on as I've been very focused on this site recently and getting the shop up and running and putting myself out there!
The model for this piece is Hagar, a Norwegian forest cat.
Hagar's beautiful coat lends itself to expressive brush strokes and my style of mark-making, and I was very keen to convey the volume and body of his fir, which in turn brings out his regal character.
